马太福音18:6
凡使这信我的一个小子跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在这人的颈项上，沉在深海里。
问：一个小子是什么意思？
这里所说的跌倒是什么意思？请举例子。
为何会严重至“倒不如把大磨石拴在这人的颈项上，沉在深海里”？
主耶稣基督在这里所讲的“一个小子”，就是指着相信主耶稣基督的信徒、真神的子民。
假若有人使到任何一位信徒跌倒，他的情况就好比把大磨石拴在颈项上，沉在深海里。主耶稣基督说这话是警惕我们，任何人都不可以使他人在真理上跌倒。
林前10：32-33不拘是犹太人，是希腊人，是神的教会，你们都不要使他跌倒；33就好像我凡事都叫众人喜欢，不求自己的益处，只求众人的益处，叫他们得救。
我们不可使任何人在道理及其他方面跌倒，或迷失方向。使人跌倒的罪相当严重，就如主耶稣基督以上所说的。
我们要非常谨慎自己的言行，万万不可因为我们自己错误的行为，使任何一位相信主耶稣基督的信徒在得救的道路上跌倒。
提前4：16你要谨慎自己和自己的教训，要在这些事上恒心，因为这样行，又能救自己，又能救听你的人。
我们务要谨慎，不要随便误导他人。在教会的历史中，有好些信徒跌倒、离弃真神的恩典，是因为他人错误的引导。这种种凭人的智慧和血气的误导，使无知听从的人丧失灵魂，进入死亡。所以主耶稣基督说：你倒不如把大磨石拴在这人的颈项上，沉在深海里。

MATTHEW 18: 6
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Questions:
What does "whoso shall offend one of these little ones" mean?
Why would it be severe to the extent that "it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea"?
"These little ones" refers to the believers of the Lord Jesus Christ, the true people of God. "Whoso shall offend one of these little ones" refers to whoever shall cause believers to fall from the path of Truth.
The Lord Jesus Christ meant to warn us that no one shall make others fall while they walk in the true path.
1Cor 10:32-33 32Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 33Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
1Tim 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
In the history of the true church, there had been many believers who had departed from the grace of God and lost their souls because they were misled by wrongteachings which were based on wisdom and traditions of men.
This is why we must be very careful of what we preach.
Compared to having to face his own spiritual death and that of those who hear him, it certainly would have been better that a millstone were hung about his necks, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
