HE WHO IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME! (Part III) (MATT. 12:30UP)

III. Be With God In The Spirit

He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him and shares the same mind with Him.

1Cor. 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Rom. 8:8-9 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

1John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Phil. 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

We can never be with God if we do things in accordance with our own will, which promotes self-interest and partiality.

Matt. 26:39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."

Ps. 119:10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

1Tim. 5:21 I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with partiality.

2Cor. 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ

Jude 1:17-19 17But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

In order to be with God, one must fulfil the following conditions:

1. Humility

We must never replace the will of the Holy Spirit with our own will. Rather, we must always fulfil the will of the Holy Spirit and not our own will.

Rom. 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient--

1Pet. 1:13-14 13Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;

Phil. 2:13-15 13for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

2. Submissive

We must have a strong will and determination to truly exhibit the spirit of submissiveness.

Phil. 2:6-8 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Isa. 53:7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth

Jas. 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Phil. 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

Since we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Gal. 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Gal. 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Rom. 8:5-6 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

We must be submissive to one another in order to foster the spirit of fellowship. We all need to do our part in order to dwell together in unity and not be an enemy of our neighbour.

1Pet. 5:5LP … Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

Ps. 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Prv. 29:22 An angry man stirs up strife, And a furious man abounds in transgression.

Lev. 19:16 You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbour: I am the LORD.

Those who obey the truth purify themselves but those who oppose the truth bring destruction on themselves.

1Pet. 1:22UP Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit ...

Ps. 119:9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

2Cor. 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Conclusion

In short, we will be in enmity with God if we are not in unity with the truth, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must take heed of our speech and deeds lest we become those who are against God, are rejected by Him, and are not known by Him.

Matt. 7:21-23 21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

2Pet. 2:20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

We must fulfil all these conditions to be regarded as those who are with God and not against Him (His enemies). Otherwise, we will meet an unimaginable and miserable end.

Rom. 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
